Music Club Chair David Knotts returns to the stage with the Callanan Wind Quintet for a captivating programme exploring the French penchant for the neoclassical: d’Indy’s elegant Sarabande and Minuet was arranged by the composer from his ‘Suite dans le Style Ancien’. Originally for piano duet, Debussy’s Petite Suite is a four movement masterpiece drawing on the models of the classic French masters. The afternoon culminates in Poulenc’s effervescent Sextet, full of wit and lyricism.
