Piano Day with Marisa Thornton-Wood
In March 2016, Faversham Music Club acquired a new piano on loan from the Blüthner Foundation. To celebrate its arrival in the Assembly Rooms, we are hosting our first ever piano day. This will be an opportunity for young performers to perform, play and explore the piano with teacher and piano specialist, Marisa Thornton-Wood. Lawson Trio
Recognised for their powerful interpretations of new as well as established repertoire, the Lawson Trio has appeared at major venues including London’s Wigmore Hall, Kings Place, the Southbank Centre and at many UK music societies and international festivals. Live concert broadcasts have included BBC Radio 3’s ‘Live in Concert’ and ‘In Tune,’ programmes. Primary Proms
June 2014 saw the launch of a series of concerts for primary school audiences called Primary Proms. These concerts continue to delight young audiences and we regularly welcome over 300 primary school children and their teachers to the Assembly Rooms. As part of the music club’s ongoing YouthWorks initiatives, Faversham Music Club will be supporting 4 local primary schools to develop their own end of year Primary Proms concerts.
