The Trevor Pinnock Gala Concert

16 March 2013 in St Mary of Charity, Faversham

To celebrate the career of Trevor Pinnock, the world renowned Kent harpsichordist and conductor, Faversham Music Club was delighted to present the inaugural Trevor Pinnock Concert.

The concert was part of the celebrations of the premiere of a new arrangement of Bruckner’s Second Symphony by Anthony Payne, performed by the Royal Academy of Music Soloists Ensemble and conducted by Trevor Pinnock.

The Bruckner was  preceded by a performance of a new piece ‘Celebrating Anton’ created by talented young musicians from all over Kent who had taken part in the first Young Musicians course led by composer, David Knotts.

Luddenham School, Faversham  hosted the first Young Musicians course for primary schools in the Summer. Year 6 pupils from the school  provided the choir for this piece.

After the concert there was a reception in the North Transept with wine and refreshments.

All proceeds from the Gala Concert were devoted to the Trevor Pinnock Youth Scheme, in order to continue Trevor’s work in helping young people to experience classical music and to work with top flight musicians.
